Yep...I'm an Art Thief...
I have reuploaded this
[link] which was recently deleted from my gallery for art theft.
Seriously? Art Theft?
Ok, I'll admit I have had a recent problem with most of my screenshots being in the wrong category; considering there was no rule which required them to be in my scraps three years ago when I started uploading them. But whatever, I was clearly wrong there, my screenshots are now in the correct category.
But being accused of art theft for screenshots? Garbage.
For any of my screenshots, I always give credit to the game creators; always. So if I upload a collection of some screenshots from Mass Effect to show other fans of the game, and give Bioware the incredible amount of credit they are due, how in the world is that art theft?
Anyone who knows anything about posting screenshots will obviously know:
a. The person posting the screenshots did not create the game.
b. The person posting the screenshots in no way is claiming credit for creating the game/characters/environment that the screenshot is presenting.
If I take a photograph of a busy street, do I take credit for the creation of the people, the buildings, the vehicles, the clouds in the sky? No, of course not.
Taking screenshots is much like photography, except it exists in the context of a particular game.
I took a bunch of screenshots from my current Mass Effect character and put them together into one thing so I wouldn't have twenty Mass Effect screenshots; how am I stealing art this way?
I mean, you tell me; how is that Art Theft? Has everyone else who has done similar things for Mass Effect been accused of Art Theft as well?
